We enjoyed a delightful, full-day wine experience with Wine and Tours. Owners Dimitri and Delphine were incredibility responsive and worked with us to customize our itinerary to our liking. They were flexible with the design of our day, answered every question and proposed multiple options based on our specific desires. On the day of our tour, Dimitri picked us up at our Beaune rental house in his clean, spacious vehicle. Dimitri is an engaging, fun host who possesses a strong knowledge about the wines and terroir of Burgundy – he’s also a skilled driver! Our day began with visit to a wine cellar collective at an historic family property in the heart of Auxey-Duresses. There, with the assistance of a local wine expert, we tasted a wide variety of white and red varietals representing the spectrum of Burgundy wines, including several Grand Crus. Next, we enjoyed a tour of a local estate in Aloxe-Corton, followed by a multicourse wine pairing lunch. Finally, we moved onto a fantastic, local, family-owned estate in Chassagne Montrachet, where the fascinating owner and winemaker gave us a tour of his cellars and conducted a private tasting of his exquisite wines. We had a final tasting planned, but since it was at a winery’s private tasting room in the heart of Beaune, and was walking distance from our house, we decided to save the tasting – which was quite enjoyable – for the following day. Dimitri returned us safely to our house after an excellent day in the beautiful Burgundian countryside. I highly recommend Wine and Tours for a custom wine experience. They’re friendly and knowledgeable, and they listen to what you want to ensure they create your ideal, personalized itinerary. They did an outstanding job of providing us with a variety of experiences – from a cellar featuring a range of excellent producers to a small, family-run business.
